JOB SUMMARY: Performs manual, semi-skilled and skilled custodial/maintenance work for the Building Maintenance department of the Public Works.
RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Performs custodial services for the City Building, including but not limited to: cleaning offices & restrooms; sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors; dusting; trash & recycling removal; window-washing; etc.
- Performs grounds-keeping services for City property in and around the City Building and nearby Bicentennial Park including: lawn mowing, weed-eating, leaf-blowing, snow shoveling, trimming shrubbery, sidewalk sweeping; etc.
- Performs general maintenance and minor repairs & renovations on facilities and grounds, such as painting, filter maintenance, etc.
- Removes debris and litter from City Building/Grounds and Bicentennial Park.
- Cleaning of park facility restrooms;
- Opens and closes facilities for scheduled events;
- Operates related automotive equipment incidental to primary responsibilities;
- Uses a variety of relevant simple and complex hand tools in a safe and effective manner;
- On call as determined by Supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a high school diploma or GED, or two (2) years’ combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements: Possess a Valid Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires extensive walking, lifting, reaching, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, climbing, balancing, and physical coordination, While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, dust, odors and extreme weather conditions.
