Parkersburg Piccalilli is a conference for and about artists! Happening in Downtown Parkersburg on Sept. 9 and 10, 2022, this event will feature two tracks: Making Your Side Hustle Work for You and Creative Maker workshops. Conference activities begin Sept. 9, at 8:30 a.m., with a continental breakfast. Activities will conclude on the evening of Sept. 10.

Making Your Side Hustle Work for You presenters will include Jennifer Reis, Elaine Grogan Luttrull, Angelica Gillera, Jenna Green, Kristin Meeks and Sassa Wilkes. They will discuss how to make creative assets marketable, manage time, apply for grants, use social media, connect financial decisions with creative goals and be represented through the Tamarack Foundation’s Creative Network.

During the Creative Maker workshops, participants will meet artists and art organizations, including the Wood County Society, Virginia Killian, Domenica Queen, Sassa Wilkes, Vance Hewitt, Joel Dugan, Bobby Rosenstock and Michelle Waters. They will discuss working with artists with disabilities, how to start projects, using mixed media, public installation art, pottery, letterpress techniques, murals, photography and more.

The Arts Collaborative of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Parkersburg Art Center and Tamarack Foundation are co-hosting the event.

Register now until Aug. 19 for a discounted fee of $95. Beginning Aug. 20, registration is $120. A special rate of $75 is available for art educators and full-time college students.
